Deputy 'stable' after alligator bite
UPDATED A Volusia County sheriff's deputy who was bitten by an 8-foot long alligator late Thursday night was in stable condition today at Halifax Health Medical Center, authorities said.

NEW Volusia and Flagler counties lost jobs and unemployment soared in April from a year earlier, the state Agency for Workforce Innovation said today.
